Interview Events

Once online applications are reviewed by our staff (usually within two weeks), many – but not all – candidates will be invited to attend an Interview Event. Interview Events are designed to give our teachNOLA interviewers and staff a strong sense of the many talents a candidate will be expected use in the classroom.

Each Interview Event will bring together up to ten candidates and one or two interviewers from the teachNOLA program. Candidates will be asked to:

• Respond to a specific classroom issue prompt in writing

• Respond to a specific classroom issue prompt via discussion group with other candidates

• Engage in a one-on-one interview with an interviewer from teachNOLA

• Present a sample teaching lesson on a topic of candidate’s choosing

An Interview Event lasts for approximately five hours. More information is included in our Interview Guide, which invited candidates receive upon scheduling their attendance for the invited Interview Event.

Interview Events generally take place on weekends at locations (usually schools) in New Orleans. If you have been invited to attend an Interview Event, click on the Apply Now button, located on this website, and log in to sign up for an Interview Event by using our candidate scheduler. The candidate scheduler will list each of the available Interview Event dates.
